After much deliberation, the DPOM Executive has made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization. The Executive have been trying over the last few years to bring back the community spirit of DPOM by encouraging new members to join, soliciting for volunteers to help on the Executive, and encouraging members to participate in events and fundraisers. However, we feel that our numerous attempts at this have been unsuccessful.
DPOM’s challenges began before the pandemic. There were financial problems with the biannual consignment sale – our main event. But the pandemic meant that we lost face-to-face interaction and the community that we all valued. Despite our attempts, we haven’t been able to rebuild this community.
It seems that people’s ways of interacting with each other have changed. Also changed is where people go for information, advice and support. DPOM’s relevance in people’s lives isn’t what it used to be. For these reasons we have decided to take the necessary steps to dissolve DPOM.
As well, as you may know, Multiple Births Canada has decided to cease operations as of September 30th, 2025
We encourage anyone who wish to remain engaged in a Parents of Multiples group to reach out to the Toronto POMBA as they remain active (www.tpomba.org).
While we are still figuring out the specific details we are happy to answer any questions members might have, so please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
DPOM Executive
